Today, more people are finding churches through the internet than
any other way. In an age where there are 1.7 billion internet users and over 3
billion people using mobile phones, a growing church realizes the value of
staying current with these media.
A website is often the first impression a visitor will have of your church. If your website is outdated, sloppy, or visually unappealing, what do you think a visitor to your site will think of your church? Your website should be modern and updated so a person is
excited to visit your church after viewing your website, otherwise they may move on and search
for a church with a more "attractive" website.
Think of your website as an investment.
- Saves on printing prices and postage. When a person moves
to the area instead of looking up a church in the phone book or waiting to
receive a postcard in the mail, they will get on the internet.
- It is a great tool to keep you members updated on church
events.
- It can be used as a spiritual growth tool. Live online services,
devotional blogs from the pastor/staff, past services archive are great
spiritual tools to use your website for.
- It increases your appeal to a younger demographic. It lets this age group know that you are in touch with today’s pace
of life.
The question should really be “Why NOT have a great church
website?”
So what are you waiting for?
